GLOSSARY TERM
What is Domain Authority (DA)?
Definition
A search engine ranking score (typically 1-100) that predicts how likely a website is to rank in search results. Originally created by Moz, similar metrics exist from Ahrefs (DR) and SEMrush (AS).
Why it Matters for AI Search
While not a direct Google ranking factor, Domain Authority correlates strongly with search visibility. AI engines also consider domain-level trust signals when deciding which sources to cite. Building authority through quality content and backlinks is a long-term SEO investment.
