What is Mobile Usability?
Definition
A set of criteria Google uses to evaluate whether a page works well on mobile devices: viewport configuration, tap target spacing, text readability, no horizontal scrolling.
Why it Matters for AI Search
Mobile usability issues show up in Search Console. Since Google uses mobile-first indexing, these are first-class ranking factors. The most common bugs: tap targets less than 48px apart, text under 16px, missing viewport meta tag.
