GLOSSARY TERM
What is Core Web Vitals?
Definition
A set of three Google metrics — LCP (Largest Contentful Paint), INP (Interaction to Next Paint), and CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) — that measure real-world user experience on a website.
Why it Matters for AI Search
Core Web Vitals are a confirmed Google ranking signal. Sites that pass all three thresholds (LCP < 2.5s, INP < 200ms, CLS < 0.1) rank significantly higher. AI engines also prefer citing fast, stable pages because they provide better user experiences when clicked through.
