GLOSSARY TERM
What is AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages)?
Definition
A Google-backed framework for building mobile-fast web pages with restricted HTML and CSS. Once required for Top Stories carousel; that requirement was removed in 2021.
Why it Matters for AI Search
AMP's heyday is over. Google no longer privileges AMP in any SERP feature, and most publishers have removed AMP versions due to maintenance burden. If you still ship AMP, audit whether it's worth the complexity.
